Getting started with XTi PULSE+

Welcome to XTi PULSE+, the ultimate biolight system designed to seamlessly adapt to your lifestyle. Using our intuitive mobile app, you can select light recipes and adjust brightness to optimize your well-being. This guide will walk you through setting up your XTi PULSE+ and getting started with the app for full control over your lighting experience.

Inside your XTi PULSE+ package, you'll find:
  • XTi PULSE+ Biolight
  • Pendant power cable

What You Will Need

To set up your XTi PULSE+, you'll need:
  • XTi PULSE+ Biolight
  • Pendant power cable (included) or other powered lamp stand
  • A smartphone (iOS or Android) with the XTi app installed
  • An active XTi account

Install the Mobile App

An XTi Account is required to proceed. If you don't have one, hit the button below to create one.

Sign in to the mobile app

Step 1

Press "Ready to Connect" and enter your email address. If your email address isn't found, please create an account here.

Step 2

Wait for an email (up to 5 minutes) and click the "Authenticate" link. The authentication page should open in your browser.

Step 3

Go back to the app, and you will be automatically logged in after a few seconds.

Connecting to the light

Follow these steps to connect to your XTi PULSE+ in the app.

Step 1

Open the XTi PULSE+ app, tap "Scan QR code" or "Add device", and point your phone at the QR code on the lamp.

Step 2

Read and accept the EULA to continue. If you choose not to accept the EULA, you may contact us to initiate a return within 60 days of purchase.

Step 3

Connect the power cable and plug the light in. When powered for the first time, the light will illuminate blue.

Step 4

Press the "Pair to this device" button onscreen. If pairing does not succeed within 30 seconds, ensure the light is powered.

The Basics

Now that your light is connected, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the interface.
  • Use the On/Off switch to start and stop the recipe.
  • Use the "Off Timer" button to automatically turn the recipe off after a period of time.
  • Select a recipe by using the dropdown menu. After selecting a recipe, press the question mark button next to "Therapy Recipe" to see a recipe description.
  • Adjust the brightness by using the slider. The brightness should be set depending on how far away the light is from you. You don't need to be exact - a rough measurement is fine.

Positioning

For optimal results:
  • Place the light within 3-6 feet of the intended area. The minimum and maximum distance will vary by recipe - select the desired recipe in the app and look at the brightness slider for specific minimum and maximum distances.
  • Angle the light towards your workspace or relaxation zone. The light should be directed towards your eyes at no more than a 45 degree angle.
  • Use the app to set the brightness based on how far away the light is from your eyes.

XTi PULSE+ lighting is designed to enhance your performance and recovery through tailored light recipes. Learn how to use it effectively below.

Using Sleep/Recover Recipes

  • The XTi PULSE+ light allows the user to personally adjust light intensity for different distances. If the recommended intensity is uncomfortable, feel free to adjust the distance slightly, understanding that the benefits of the light may be limited.

  • You do NOT have to stare or focus on the light. The light just needs to be in a location where it can reach your eyes. The light can be used alongside normal daily activities if it is placed in the user’s peripheral vision. The light can be used while watching tv, using a cell phone, reading a book, playing video games, or cooking.

  • Do NOT place the light above you, behind you, or behind another object. The light needs to be able to reach your eyes directly without interference. XTi PULSE+ lights are not like other lights used simply for vision or room ambience.

  • The XTi Sleep/Recover recipe needs to be used BEFORE going to bed. This is because XTi lighting works through the retina of the eye. If the light is only used when in bed and going to sleep, the effect will be minimal (eyes are closed). The light can be left on all night long, as it may help you return to sleep after waking up at night.

  • Try to use the XTi Sleep/Recover recipe for a minimum of 45 minutes daily for sleep/recovery benefits, but there is NO upper limit to use time. Using the light for longer periods of time will generally result in improved results.

  • Most people use the XTi Sleep/Recover recipe for improved sleep and relaxation in the evening and at night, but the sleep/recover light can be used at any time of day for injury recovery, stress, anxiety, etc.

  • Use the XTi Sleep/Recover recipe as much as needed to obtain the results you are looking for.

  • For those with non-traditional work schedules, use the XTi Sleep/Recover recipe prior to going to bed (even if that is during daylight hours) in order to maximize your sleep, recovery and overall health.

Using Performance Recipes

  • The XTi PULSE+ light allows the user to personally adjust light intensity for different distances. If the recommended intensity is uncomfortable, feel free to adjust the distance slightly, understanding that the benefits of the light may be limited.

  • You do NOT have to stare or focus on the light. The light just needs to be in a location where it can reach your eyes. The light can be used alongside normal daily activities if it is placed in the user’s peripheral vision. The light can be used while working, exercising, watching tv, using your phone, reading a book, playing video games, cooking, etc.

  • Do NOT place the light above you, behind you, or behind another object. The light needs to be able to reach your eyes directly without interference. XTi PULSE+ lights are not like other lights used simply for vision or room ambience.

  • The XTi Performance recipe can be used at any time during the day. It can be used while working at your desk, doing chores around the house, exercising at home or at the gym, etc.

  • Use the XTi Performance recipe anytime of the day to achieve performance benefits. There is NO upper limit to use time. Using the light for longer periods of time will generally result in improved results.

  • Try NOT to use the XTi Performance recipe for 1 hour prior to going to sleep. You may have more difficulty falling asleep.

  • Most people use the XTi Performance recipe for improved focus/concentration at work or during exercise, BUT the XTi Performance recipe can be used at any time of day for increased energy, focus, concentration, task management, etc.

  • Use the XTi Performance recipe as much as needed to obtain the results you are looking for.

  • For those with non-traditional work schedules, use the XTi Performance recipe during your waking hours when you need to be able to focus, concentrate, and perform your best.

Using Sleep/Recover and Performance Recipes Together

Using both the XTi PULSE+ Sleep/Recover & the XTi PULSE+ Performance recipes during the same 24hr day generally results in better performance and sleep/recovery.

Typical use of both recipes would be:
  • Use of Performance recipe upon awakening, while working, during exercise.
  • Change to Sleep/Recovery recipe in the evening while watching tv, reading, etc., prior to going to bed.
  • Light use may be different for night shift workers or others with atypical schedules.
  • Feel free to use both recipes as needed to achieve desired results.

Note: The XTi PULSE+ light has both the sleep/recovery & the performance recipe on the same light, allowing users to change recipes with their cell phone.
